THE ARTISTS
From N/S Exhition Dec 2019
Josie Ko
Glasgow based painting and print-making artist Josie Ko deals with identity and the experience of being a black British female in contemporary society and explores these themes through characters of her own design.
Andy Arkley
The multi-talented US based visual artist, designer, musician and animator Andy Arkley will be showing his high-energy and playful work at N/S. Look out for his visually crazy video work!
Helen Grundy
Birmingham based object and image maker, Helen Grundy, uses unusual materials to create surreal, provocative and humourous works surrounding ideas of nostalgia.
Sam Baker
Fine artist and sculptor, Sam Baker, joins the N/S guest artists to display his work, making interesting manipulations to hard, industrial materials, such as metals. We can't wait to see what he contributes on the day!
Synnove Ellingson
Multi-media artist (everything from performance to painting to collage) Ellingson will be taking part in N/S, who has been recently interested in ideas around spaces in which make choices and how this generates different pathways. Both spatial and political, Ellingson's work tests the boundaries of a wide range of subjects.
Sotiris Bougas
Greece based minimalist photographer, Sotiris Bougas, will be contributing some of his spectacular image work to N/S. Concerned with the emotional connection between person and image, Bougas highlights the power of shadow, light and colour palettes.
Cameron Lings
Fine artist and sculptor, Cameron Lings, is inspired by natural, urban and industrial environments and our relationship with these spaces, specifically how they reflect and affect our social behaviours. Interested in the materiality of his work and environmental issues, we are very excited to have this young, up and coming artist contributing to N/S
Anouska Lee
London based Chinese animation artist, Anouska Lee, is inspired by 2D and stop motion work and creates narratives about day-to-day life, using speed and pace to exaggerate varying aspects of the subject. We look forward to seeing what she brings to the N/S exhibition.
